When I’m not taking photos one of my other passions in life are cars, I’ve always been fascinated by them, I may not be the most technically gifted when it comes to how they work but I certainly enjoy looking at them and learning about them. I’m very fortunate that my 10 yr old son also shares the same passion so what better way to spend a sunny Sunday afternoon than attending a local car show!
Fastlane car show was developed from two super car Sundays held in Corbridge in 2008 & 2009, from the early days it was obvious the event was growing at such a rate that the natural path was to expand it and take it to the next level. In 2010 there was over 300 cars on display, 2011 as expected was bigger and better with the inclusion of more trade stands, more display cars and with the continued support from local car clubs such as Ferrari Owners Club, Porsche Club GB and Classic Corvette Club among many others the event keeps growing and growing year after year.
Fastlane 2016 was held at Albermarle Barracks, Northumberland for the first time, there was a huge selection of cars ranging from supercars to classics, as well as all the display cars there was also a live action arena which included cars, motor bikes and even a tank! Rally cars were also in attendance offering passenger rides around a carefully constructed race course and as if that wasn’t enough there was lots of fair ground rides and attractions as well as lots of food stalls and local crafts.
Below are a few examples of some photos I took at the event, sadly due to the overwhelming crowds it was difficult to get some high quality photos so I decided to take a few shots of my son taking his photos. I hope you like the photos and thanks for reading my blog.
